Dr. Meow’s Lettuce Cake Recipe
At the corner café, beneath the neon sign, Dr. Meow mixed a salad so terribly fine. He wore a white jacket, a bow tie of blue, And said, “Folks, this lettuce cake’s just right for you!”
You’ll need:
- Two heads of lettuce, crisp as can be,
- Three tomatoes smiling with glee,
- A cucumber sliced in a pickle-shaped way,
- Some cheddar for sunshine to brighten the day,
- A handful of peas in a green little heap,
- Six radishes dressed up for sleep,
- One carrot wearing a polka-dot hat,
- A rutabaga—please don’t ask why that,
- Two spoons of ranch and a dollop of cream,
- A pickle as tall as a soda-pop dream,
- Four olives for eyes, shiny and round,
- And one little onion that won’t make a sound.
Now layer your lettuce in layers of green, The prettiest salad the county has seen. Add tomatoes around it in red little rows, Then cheddar like shingles beneath your nose.
For the cake’s little face, place two olives just so, Give it a tomato-red smile down below. A cucumber bow tie? Why, certainly, yes! This is high culinary science, Dr. Meow will confess.
Then place the rutabaga proudly on top— Like a vegetable weather balloon ready to hop. It isn’t a candle, nor cake, nor a hat, But goodness, it’s darling. Imagine that!
Put your lettuce cake proudly beside The the casserole, and put pickles on the side.
Slice up the lettuce with great ceremony, Serve ranch on the side like a palace matrimony. It’s crunchy! It’s goofy! It’s wholesome! It’s swell! It’s a salad that rings the dinner bell.
But just as Dr. Meow took a bite with a grin, The rutabaga wobbled and rolled off his chin! The olives went bouncing, the peas took flight, And the pickle spun round like a disco delight.
Dr. Meow shouted, “My cake! What a mess!” Then slipped on a cucumber, yelling, “Chef down! SOS!” The lettuce went flying, the ranch hit the floor, And one tiny tomato rolled out the door.
Dr. Meow sprang up and struck a workout pose, While peas rolled like marbles beneath his toes. “Ten squats!” he cried. “Then a veggie attack! This salad may fight, but I’m fighting it back!”
He lunged at a lettuce leaf—WHOOSH!—it escaped, A carrot did burpees while wearing its cape. The pickle did push-ups. The radishes ran. The onion yelled, “GO, MEOW! You’re my biggest fan!”
He chased down the tomatoes, then hurdled the cheese, Did twenty- five tail spins with impressive ease. But the salad fought harder—it wouldn’t give in. It flung one last cucumber straight at his chin!
Dr. Meow laughed, “Well, I guess this is true: Vegetables love me—and I love them too! They make me run faster, they make me feel strong, And apparently they’ve been training all along!”
So if you make my lettuce cake, be ready to fight— It might do your cardio morning and night. Eat up your veggies, then stretch with delight, Because salad may challenge you… but veggies fight right!
